Jon leads corporate strategy and development, investor relations, and marketing. Jon's passion for clean energy derives from his time served with the US Army in Iraq and the realization that a clean energy economy is vital to protect America's national security interests. After helping revolutionize the US Army's energy program, Jon was appointed by President Obama to serve as the Federal Chief Sustainability Officer. While in this role, Jon recognized the need to address the inefficiencies in clean energy finance. In 2016, Jon was named by Washington Life as a Top 25 Tech Leader for DC.
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Thomas leads the strategy and operations, including investor growth and deal origination. He also serves as interim legal counsel. CleanCapital was born out of the inefficiencies that Thom witnessed while spending his career in clean energy finance. Prior to CleanCapital, Thom was a Partner and General Counsel at True Green Capital, a private equity firm focused on distributed solar investments. He has led landmark financings on projects to include NRG's California Valley Solar Ranch, Caithness' Shephards Flat Wind Project, and Terra Gen's Alta Wind Energy Center.
Board Observer & Co-Founder
While deployed in Iraq in 2004, Kevin, a West Point graduate, witnessed the national security implications of US military dependence on fossil fuels, leading him to devote his career to the clean energy industry after returning home. With over seven years of M&A and business development experience for several of the world's largest renewable energy companies, Kevin brings unique capabilities and market insights to the CleanCapital team. In 2013, Kevin was the recipient of the White House Champions of Change award for his leadership in the renewable energy industry.
Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder
Marc is responsible for the vision and execution of the CleanCapital technology platform. Marc has worked with clients as diverse as Amazon.com, Congressional Quarterly, ADP, the Washington Redskins, PewResearch, and Bloomberg Businessweek. Marc's passion for impact investing began when he helped to launch Vested, Calvert Foundation's social investment platform. As the author and editor of numerous programming titles, Marc was also instrumental in architecting the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, a program that distributed Apple laptops to every seventh grade student in the state of Maine. Prior to CleanCapital, Marc was the Chief Executive Officer at Intridea.
Zoe assists with CleanCapital's operations, due diligence, and asset management, as well as provides support to the company's marketing and communications outreach. Previously, Zoe worked for the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, a Washington, DC based clean energy trade association, managing their clean air program area, external communications, and supported their international programs at UN climate conferences. Zoe also interned with the White House Council on Environmental Quality in the Office of Federal Sustainability. She is a Clean Energy Leadership Institute Fellow and has lived and studied in Dakar, Senegal.
